Honorable Chairperson visited NTNC

The Honorable Minister for Forests and Soil Conservation (MoFSC) and the Chairperson of National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) Mr. Shankar Bhandari visited NTNC and was briefed about the Trust's activities on Monday, September 26, 2016.

The Member Secretary, Mr. Govinda Gajurel, presented the Trust's major activities in the field of nature conservation in Nepal. During his presentation, he also shared the issues and challenges if the conservation sector.

On the occasion, the Chairperson directed the officials of NTNC for better coordination among all stakeholders and to initiate new ideas and work plan in the field of nature conservation in the country.

Hon. Minister Bhandari was nominated as the Chairperson of the Trust by Right Honorable Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), the Patron of the Trust, on September 8, 2016 as per the provision of NTNC Act, 1982 - Article 5 (ka).

The secretary of the MoFSC and Member of the Governing Board of the Trust Dr. Krishna Chandra Paudel, Mr. Krishna Acharya, Director General of Department of Forests and Mr. Gopal Prakash Bhattarai, Deputy Director General of Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation were also present in the briefing.
