In his first visit since taking office on March 16, 2018, the newly appointed Hon. Minister Mr. Shakti Bahadur Basnet, Ministry of Forests and Environment (MoFE) and his team were received today (on March 20) at the NTNC Central Office. Accompanying him was also the Secretary Dr. Yubak Dhoj GC, Ministry of Forests. During the occasion, the new Minister was briefed about the Trust's overall activities by the Member Secretary of NTNC, Mr. Govinda Gajurel. Similarly, a briefing session was also conducted by the President’s Chure-Terai Madhesh Conservation Project team. Present during the occasion besides others were also members of the NTNC Governing Board of Trustees Dr. Giri Raj Tripathi and Mr. Saral Sahayatri Paudel.

Calling on resolve and willingness "to work sincerely in a spirit of teamwork," the Hon. Minister advised that "Nepal's conservation success ought to translate into the prosperity of its people." Throughout the occassion the Hon. Minister stressed for a ‘people-centric conservation approach’.
