NTNC hosted Major General Gerald Mark Strickland of the British Army, and his wife Cathy, at the central office today. They were welcomed by the Trust Chairman Dr. Krishna Prasad Oli and Member Secretary Mr. Sharad Chandra Adhikari, together with the programme team.
At the interactions the guests were briefed about NTNC's efforts in promoting nature conservation in Nepal and the continued role of the UK in strengthening the Trust's mission. The NTNC chairman and the member secretary highlighted about the many past to recent UK-supported projects, the lasting successes met, and new and current opportunities for enhancing future collaboration and partnership.
Major General Strickland, who is an extensively decorated senior officer of the British Army's Royal Gurkha Rifles, is also a member of the NTNC-UK Chapter. The major general harkened to the importance the late Field Marshal Sir John Chapple placed on supporting the Trust. He noted the focus of the new Lord Camoys, The Hon. William Stonor, who is currently a member of the NTNC Governing Board, and who is also chair of the NTNC-UK Chapter. The major general said that the emphasis of the UK-Chapter is to continue to help build and scale resource capacities for catalyzing the Trust's work.
