
The Hon. Dr. Birendra Prasad Mahato has taken office today as the country's new Minister for Forests and Environment.
Following the formal swearing-in ceremony at the President's Office, Hon. Dr. Mahato arrived at his ministry in Singhadurbar where he was welcomed by the MOFE Secretary Dr. Rewati Raman Poudel, the NTNC Member Secretary Mr. Sharad Chandra Adhikari, among other senior-level government officials and affiliates.
In his first address, Hon. Dr. Mahato briefed the gathering about some of his immediate priorities focusing on MOFE's good governance and public delivery capacities, fast-tracking and putting in place necessary laws and policies, prioritizing both conservation and development approaches to benefit one another, and actively undertaking the progressive reform and impact of MOFE.
The Hon. Minister Dr. Mahato is an elected member from the Janta Samajwadi Party representing Siraha 4 in the Federal Parliament of Nepal.
