After taking office 18 months ago as NTNC's Member Secretary, Mr. Yajna Nath Dahal, will be stepping down to undertake his new appointment as Secretary of Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forests and Environment of Sudurpashchim Province by the Government of Nepal. Mr. Dahal had been appointed NTNC Member Secretary on March 5, 2019.

A formal farewell event was organized to this effect yesterday (September 07) at NTNC's Central Office in Khumaltar following COVID-19 safety codes. Exchanging pleasantries, the outgoing Member Secretary said that in spite of his new appointment, he was "looking forward to actively collaborate with NTNC and make the most of its skilled human resources and national and international recognition."

Although being in office very briefly, some significant steps were taken under Mr. Dahal's leadership. Among them, nine major policy documents of NTNC were formulated, NTNC’s Strategic Plan endorsed, along with fast tracking efforts for conservation projects presently in the pipeline.

Expressing appreciation for his leadership on behalf of the institution, NTNC's Executive Directors Dr. Siddhartha Bajra Bajracharya and Mr. Deepak Kumar Singh said that they would continue to anticipate future support and cooperation from the outgoing Member Secretary.
