After taking office earlier this week, the newly appointed Director General (DG) of the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC), Mr Gopal Prakash Bhattarai, made his first visit to the NTNC Central Office today. The meeting that was called by NTNC's Member Secretary was undertaken to formally exchange greetings of Mr Bhattarai's new responsibility to the top post of the country's protected area management authority.

At the meeting with the NTNC team, the new DG said that he continued to be very optimistic about NTNC's long contributions and special status in the nation's conservation vision, sharing his confidence about further strengthening institutional coordination and engagement among one another. Mr Bhattarai comes with long decades of experience in wildlife and natural resource conservation in Nepal, and prior to this, he was serving as the Deputy DG of DNPWC.
