The Jawalakhel Group of Industries Pvt. Ltd. have pledged to support NPR. 1.5 million for adoption of Central Zoo's elephant Pawankali. The corporate group confirmed their support yesterday on the occasion of the World Environment Day joining NTNC's Adopt-an-Animal campaign initiative at the Central Zoo that seeks to create meaningful human-wildlife engagement through a guardian-like arrangement for each animal at the zoo.
The adoption amount will cover one year of expenses related to arranging for the elephant's diet, care and health-related needs. In light of the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, that have strained NTNC's financial resources to manage the zoo that cares for more than 1100 animals, this support will be particularly valuable.
NTNC and the Central Zoo would like to sincerely thank the Jawalakhel Group of Industries for its leadership and decision to play its part for wildlife conservation. NTNC is hopeful this will encourage others in the corporate sector to also come forward.
