NTNC's Executive Director Dr. Siddhartha Bajra Bajracharya has been appointed as Associate Academician for Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), the apex science and technology body in the country. The appointment was officially communicated by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers last week on June 30.
Dr. Bajracharya will be joining over fifty of the nation's leading scientists, practitioners and professors, representing diverse fields of science and technology. Academicians and Associate Academicians at NAST are nominated by the Rt. Hon'ble Prime Minister and Chancellor on the recommendation of a selection committee.
Dr. Bajracharya will continue to perform his executive role at NTNC. We at NTNC are confident that his three decades-plus experience working in Nepal's protected area management, wildlife research and community development, will be an incredible resource for NAST in the coming days. Equally NTNC looks forward to learning and growing from the wonderful diversity of minds and personalities at NAST.
Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) is an autonomous apex body established in 1982 to promote science and technology in the country. The Academy is entrusted with four major objectives: advancement of science and technology for all-round development of the nation; preservation and further modernization of indigenous technologies; promotion of research in science and technology; and identification and facilitation of appropriate technology transfer.
