A senior-level team from the Ministry of Forests and Environment (MOFE) led by Dr. Rewati Raman Poudel, the newly appointed MOFE Acting Secretary, accompanied by MOFE Joint Secretaries, Mr. Shiva Prasad Regmi and Mr. Dhananjaya Paudyal, visited the NTNC central office today. A welcome and briefing session was organized during this.
NTNC Member Secretary Mr. Sharad Chandra Adhikari congratulated Dr. Poudel on his new appointment and shared about NTNC's areas of expertise and interests. A brief presentation about NTNC's current work and future roadmap was made by the NTNC Programme Manager Dr. Naresh Subedi.
Amidst the short visit, the MOFE acting secretary spoke to points on addressing regulatory gaps concerning NTNC-managed conservation areas. Together with wildlife conservation and scientific research, Dr. Poudel pointed on the need to focus on enhancing the economic prosperity of protected area communities, creating opportunities for green entrepreneurship and innovation, building resilience and sustainable livelihoods.
